Omu is a grandmother who makes a big pot of thick red stew. The delicious smell floats out of her window and through the neighborhood. One by one, people come to her door — a little boy, a police officer, a hot dog vendor, a taxi driver, a doctor, and many more. Each time someone comes, Omu shares her stew. She keeps giving and giving. By dinnertime, when Omu goes to eat, she discovers the pot is empty. She is sad — there is nothing left for her. Then the doorbell rings. All the people from the neighborhood come back, each bringing a dish to share with Omu. They have a big feast together, and everyone says "Thank you, Omu!"
Omu es una abuela que prepara una gran olla de estofado rojo y espeso. El delicioso olor sale por su ventana y se extiende por el vecindario. Uno por uno, las personas llegan a su puerta — un niño, un policía, un vendedor de hot dogs, un taxista, un doctor y muchos más. Cada vez que alguien viene, Omu comparte su estofado.
